Somersaults!

Dear Kayden,
You just learned how to do somersaults yesterday!! You kept putting your head on the floor with your feet on the ground so I nudged you over to do a somersault. You had me do it a couple more times then you figured out how to do it yourself!

Outside

Dear Kayden,
With the tubes in your ears you aren't allowed to go swimming this summer. I was so disappointed when I found that out. I had planned on putting you in lessons this summer. So instead we got you some outside toys. You have been loving playing on them.
You love the slide. You have finally learned to not to try going down while standing up. You landed on your face a couple times. But you never cried.
Then you got a bubble lawn mower. You love chasing the bubbles around.
I am glad the weather is getting warmer so you can play outside with pip.

Ear Tubes

Dear Kayden,
So we have noticed that you aren't talking as much as you should be by now. What you do say is pretty mumbled too. So we took you to an ear doctor. You failed your hearing tests. I was so upset. We took you to a specialist and he recommended tubes. So that is what we did. I was so nervous and upset that you had to be under anesthetia.  I was so scared while you were in there. Thankfully it only takes like 20 minutes. As soon as they said we could see you I handed your father all of my stuff and rushed through the door to you.
No one warned me how horrible it is to see your lil one coming out of the anesthetia. It was the worst thing I have had to watch. You just screamed and threw yourself around, while refusing to open your eyes.
Once we got you in the car with mickey mouse you did much better. You got significantly better throughout the day.
A couple of days later you got sick though. We arent sure if it is related or not. You don't have any discharge in your ears so that is a good sign. But either way we are taking you to the doctor tomorrow.
You having been sleeping lots lately. You wake up curl up on me and go back to sleep.
Today you have been awake alot more then yesterday so I think you are getting better. I hope so anyway.

mommy

Aquarium

Dear Kayden,
With mommy working and daddy in school  we are definitely a busy family. So we are trying to go on more family outings. So we went to the aquarium! It was fun. You got to touch a stingray!
We really enjoyed spending the time together.
You really liked looking at the fish. I would love to get you a fish tank but that will have to wait.

Easter

Dear Kayden,
We were so excited for this easter because we knew you could actually do the easter egg hunts!
We did one at home with Nana when she came to visit. You got it right away and had so much fun.
We may have over done it a lil bit. But we had fun :)

We went to multiple easter egg hunts around town too.

We had so much fun with it. Then actually on Easter we did one with your cousins. When I wasn't looking your aunts kept giving you candy.  Apparently you didnt like this one.

New Job

Dear Kayden,
So in March I was laid off. Since your dad went on leave I found another job. This time waitressing. It works out much better since the hours are flexible. I stay at home with you all day Tuesday, Thursday, and Wednesday night. I usually work doubles on Monday and you go to daycare.
I think this works out much better then the last job. I work less hours so I can spend more time with you.

Day Care

Dear Kayden,
In January I took a job working at a tax agency as a receptionist. It is a seasonal job until April. When I found out about the job we worked your dads schedule around so he would be home with you during the day except for 2 hours 4 days a week. We found someone from the ward who was available to watch you during that time so it seemed like everything was working out perfect.
Of course things are rarely actually that easy. Your fathers schedule got messed up. We were able to move it around so that he could be home with you all day on wednesday and friday. Most of the day monday he is also home. Your Aunt Carissa has been watching you on Monday for 3 hours during the day. Tuesday and Thursday were the problem though. We did lots of research and decided to put you in a daycare instead of with a babysitter. We found one with great reviews, a fun schedule for you, and right on my way to work. Its called Mother's Choice.
You started there last Tuesday. I had such a hard time leaving you. I cried the whole way to work. You didn't even seem to care. You ran off to play. Which I guess is a good thing. Thursday I woke you up to get you ready to go again only to discover you had thrown up. You caught the 24 hour flu. So since your dad had school all day I stayed home with you. You threw up most of the day. I ended up having to call your Aunt Carissa for help. She came and held you while I cleaned the couch and living room.
Yesterday you went back to day care again. You did great. They always rave about how well behaved you are. You have so much fun and seem to be making friends. There are 2 other boys close to your age also named Kayden just spelled different. Your favorite thing definitely seems to be the slide.
I think taking you to daycare will be good socialization skills for you. Its just hard for me. Once April rolls around I will probably stay at home with you once again.
Love,
Mommy
